Situations / .08 The organisation needs continuing value assurance and governance
What you may be seeing
- Value priorities have been agreed but there is no enduring mechanism for reviewing progress and changing evidence.
- Executive decisions depend on periodic ad hoc analysis rather than a stable assurance rhythm.
- Different owners are acting on different interpretations of the same value picture.
- Measures exist, but challenge, escalation and decision rights are fragmented.
- The organisation needs independent or structured assurance as interventions progress.
- The value baseline is becoming stale as operating conditions, priorities or assumptions change.
- Leadership wants continuity of governance without rebuilding the analytical process for every decision cycle.

Why it matters
Value can drift after a strong diagnostic if the mechanism for reviewing evidence and acting on it is temporary. Priorities change, assumptions become outdated, interventions produce new information and operational conditions move on.
Without a continuing assurance rhythm, the organisation can retain the original report while losing the disciplined decision process that made it useful.

What can sit behind it
The need may arise from fragmented value ownership, weak executive governance, changing evidence, complex intervention portfolios, insufficient challenge of assumptions, or the absence of an enduring operating mechanism for value decisions.
An ongoing capability is not automatically required. The question is whether continuing assurance creates value beyond what internal governance can already provide.

Where this can lead
- 01
Value Assurance Office is the primary route when the organisation requires a continuing DAA value-assurance and governance capability.
- 02
Value Evidence & Governance Handover may be more appropriate where the requirement is to transfer evidence, ownership and governance into the client’s enduring operations rather than to retain DAA as an ongoing assurance capability.
- 03
Value Optimisation Review may be more appropriate where the organisation first needs a broader diagnosis or refreshed value baseline before ongoing assurance can be sensibly defined.
