Focused expert intervention
Why a Session can be useful
Not every important question is ready for a large programme of work. Sometimes the immediate need is to sharpen the problem, challenge assumptions, connect evidence to the decision, explore practical options or create enough clarity to determine what should happen next.
A focused intervention can be valuable in its own right when it is tightly framed around a real executive or operating question and produces a useful outcome rather than simply becoming a sales conversation.
Three ways to work with DAA
Choose the level of working the question needs. Start with the question. The format simply determines how much time and applied working is useful to reach a tangible outcome.

DAA Sessions.1 · 2 Hours
Executive Sessions
Best for: One bounded executive problem or decision, usually one-to-one or with a very small group.
What happens: Structured expert challenge and advisory discussion around the question and the evidence or assumptions shaping it.
What you leave with: A concise challenge summary, decision questions, value-risk hypotheses or a clearly framed set of next actions.

DAA Sessions.2 Half day or full day
Advisory Sessions
Best for: A client-specific issue that benefits from facilitated diagnosis, challenge and applied working.
What happens: The group works through the situation, competing interpretations, ownership, evidence and practical options.
What you leave with: A bounded client-specific output such as an opportunity map, ownership/governance map, maturity perspective or prioritised action hypotheses.

DAA Sessions.3 Full day
Masterclass Sessions
Best for: Building shared understanding and applying a Digital Adoption, value or other specialist discipline to the client context.
What happens: Structured education combined with practical application rather than generic classroom training.
What you leave with: An applied perspective, decision questions and an action-priority or learning/action plan relevant to the organisation.
01
When a DAA Session is the right fit
A Session is appropriate when the question is sufficiently bounded to address through focused expert working; the client can provide enough context to make the discussion useful; and the desired outcome is clarity, challenge, orientation or a practical decision aid rather than a formal diagnostic or continuing assurance service.
The question may relate to Digital Adoption, programme-to-operations transition, behavioural continuity, value evidence and governance, post-go-live performance or a broader enterprise-value issue, as long as it can be addressed meaningfully within the agreed Session.
02
What DAA does
DAA helps frame the question clearly, surfaces the assumptions that may be shaping the current view, brings relevant multidisciplinary perspective, examines the evidence or context available, challenges competing interpretations and works with the client toward a practical conclusion or set of next actions.
Every Session is intended to create complete standalone value within its agreed scope. A useful outcome may be a clearer decision, a better-framed problem, a practical action path or a conclusion that no further DAA work is needed. A Session is not designed as a forced route into another offer.
03
What the client gets
A tangible output proportionate to the format and question. Depending on scope, that may be a concise challenge summary, opportunity map, ownership/governance map, maturity perspective, prioritised action hypotheses, decision questions, value-risk hypotheses or an applied learning/action plan.
The output is agreed for the Session and is deliberately bounded. It is designed to be useful in its own right rather than a shortened version of a larger diagnostic or assurance engagement.
01
Who is typically involved
DAA draws on relevant senior practitioners from its multidisciplinary Council and wider delivery model according to the question being addressed. The team is shaped around the expertise the Session needs, with practitioner availability confirmed for the specific engagement.
02
Related routes
A Value Optimisation Review may be appropriate when the question is materially broader and requires an evidence-driven enterprise diagnosis.
Value Assurance Office may be appropriate where a separately agreed ongoing value-assurance and governance capability is required.
A bounded intervention such as Operational Readiness, Intelligent Change Transition, Value Evidence & Governance Handover, Digital Adoption CoE Design & Build or Value Performance & Optimisation may be appropriate where the question has already resolved to one of those more specific problem shapes.
